The Fish Weren't Biting

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post! A month slipped away pretty fast. In that time I have been shooting a lot and working on balancing my work and personal life. By balance, I mean finding more time to do the other things I love. Fortunately, sometimes photography and these other activities cross over. For instance, a few weeks ago I was fly fishing with my friend Daniel. I wasn't catching anything so I pulled out my camera and started photographing. Fortunately for me, Daniel looks damn good out there in his waders! By this picture it might be believable that we were pulling trout after trout out of the water. Well, let's just stick with that assumption for the sake of simplicity.

I love this shot and decided to stylize it a little in photoshop. Out of the camera everything looked great, but I wanted to add a little more drama and texture to the image so I layered it with some textures, tweaked the color, boosted the sharpness and dodged and burned. I think it looks pretty damn good. Thanks to Daniel for being Pennsylvania's best looking fisherman. Don't worry, we'll find the fish sooner or later.
